Dear {{first_name}} |Beloved Beacons of Light}},
At this cosmic moment of transition, the Solstice, Earth pauses to catch her breath. And, in doing this, she invites us to do the same. Throughout the ages, humans have revered this day, recognizing its magic and the profound connection between humanity and the celestial rhythms. On the 21st, we also get to celebrate International Yoga Day which we chatted about in detail last year on this day when we launched our newsletter 🧘🏻🧡
Discover the Magic of the Solstice
What’s the Solstice about?
The word "solstice" is derived from the Latin words "sol," meaning Sun, and "sistere," meaning to stand still, signifying the moment when the Sun seems to stop momentarily in its journey across the sky before reversing direction. In the Northern Hemisphere, where it is the year's longest day in terms of daylight, the June solstice is known as the Summer Solstice. On the contrary, in the Southern Hemisphere, it is the shortest day of the year and is known as the Winter Solstice. In December, we were fortunate enough to catch the solstice on the coast of Ecuador surrounded by friends and family - with the sun setting on one side and a full end-to-end rainbow on the other side! We thought we were all dreaming; one of the most beautiful moments in nature we have yet to experience.

As the Summer Solstice draws near for us here in the Northern Hemisphere, it's time to celebrate the light that envelops us; the warm embrace of the Sun and its gentle glow within each of us. It’s a time of abundance and vitality, celebrating the peak of solar energy and the fullness of life. It is a moment for renewal, and setting intentions, encouraging us to honor the cycles of nature and embrace the transformative power of the season.
As the Sun reaches its zenith on the Solstice, let us align our hearts with its radiant energy and awaken to the divine light within.

It’s also a potent time for reflection and celebration. With that in mind, we just want to mark that this day last year was our first newsletter post - whoo! A huge thank you to all 30,000 of you for joining us here. We are so happy you’re here on the Breathe and Flow train and we couldn’t do it without you. Celebrate International Yoga Day
Yoga for Unity and Empowerment
The Summer solstice arrives hand in hand with International Yoga Day, offering us a unique opportunity to celebrate and reflect on the boundless possibilities of our practice as the male and female energies unite. This year, International Yoga Day centers around the theme of ‘Women Empowerment,’ highlighting the strength, resilience, and wisdom that women bring to the yogic path.
This theme resonates deeply within the practice of yoga, encouraging us to honor the feminine energy within all of us, regardless of the gender we identify with; yoga is for everyone. 🌈 Yoga helps us tap into our nurturing, intuitive, and compassionate sides, connecting us to the divine feminine and the earth, nature, and Pachamama. The day promotes a focus on the development in advancements in women's health, addressing the historic disparity between men’s and women’s health research. Let this day inspire you to embrace your unique journey, support one another, and harness the transformative power of yoga to uplift and empower the feminine energy in each of us.
How does my yoga practice align with the solstice?
You may already practice yoga every day, on and off the mat, even with every action you take…but this time also offers you an opportunity to have conversations with people about it who may not yet have discovered the benefits of yoga for themselves. The International Day of Yoga shines a spotlight on the myriad advantages of following a yogic path, inviting individuals globally to embrace a more wholesome way of living. The day highlights the significance of both physical and mental wellness, emphasizing how yoga plays a pivotal role in attaining this equilibrium. At the heart of yoga lies the spirit of unity, peace, and self-discovery. It's not just about striking a pose on the mat nor performing endless sun salutations; it's a profound journey of self-exploration and transformation.
